New challenges are the order of the day for Alex as he heads to Hockenheim in Germany for the penultimate round of the 2018 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.
It’s playoff time in the 2018 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series with just four double-points races on two of the most iconic European tracks remaining, with the first this weekend at the legendary Hockenheimring.
Alex will head to Hockenheim this weekend as one of seventeen drivers who sit within 100 points from the series lead, with a maximum of 352 points still up for grabs. Competition will, therefore, be fierce in Hockenheim with all the drivers focusing on maximizing their point’s haul, and putting their name in the NASCAR Hall Of Fame as the 2018 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Champion.
Alex is also locked in a second battle for the Junior Trophy where he is just 30 points off the lead. This position is even more remarkable as Alex has only contested 6 out of the 8 races completed by the other Elite 1 drivers. With two top-five finishes and four top-ten finishes in the last two rounds, double points in Hockenheim, could see Alex close the gap.
“I'm really looking forward to this weekend at Hockenheim, it's the first time this year that I've had the chance to test at a circuit prior to the race, meaning that we should be able to make another step forward.”
Braxx Racing will also roll out a new car for Alex as Hockenheim. A new shape Chevrolet Camaro will replace his usual Ford Mustang. Still sporting the same blue and red livery and bearing the number 90.
“The Camaro looks fantastic and I'm really excited to get it on track, hopefully it is as fast as it looks and we'll be back on that podium come race 1!”
The Euro NASCAR playoffs will kick off on September 15-16 with Alex contesting two Elite 1 races at the Hockenheimring, Germany.
