FRESH START FOR THE HOME ROUND

Alex will contest the next NWES round at Brands Hatch with a new team after signing for the Belgian Braxx Racing Team.

After completing the first two rounds with the Italian MRT team, Alex will contest the remainder of the NWES season with one of the top teams, Braxx Racing in the Elite 1 class.

“I would like to thank everyone at MRT team for all their help and support in the first two rounds. After the most recent round in Italy, we had a conversation with Jerry of Braxx Racing which, ended up with us agreeing to a deal for me to join the team and race with them for the rest of the year in Elite 1”, commented Alex.

Alex will compete in Elite 1 alongside renowned driver Marc Goossens and team owner Jerry De Weerdt. He will share the number 90 car with Elite 2 driver Pedro Bonnet.

With the first round in Valencia, Spain and the second round at Franciacorta in Italy, Brands Hatch will be the first circuit Alex has previous experience of racing on.

“Brands Hatch will be the only track this year where I have previously raced so although it was in completely different types of cars, I have some knowledge of the track. This will help, as I am learning a new car and joining a new team. As the only British Driver in the championship I will be doing my best to get the best result I can on home soil for the team and the British fans.”

“The racing will be quite different for me. I have raced Ginetta Juniors and contested the Renault Clio Cup at Brands before, however, this time in a 400hp NASCAR will be an entirely different challenge round the tight and twisty Kent circuit”, remarked Alex

The Braxx Racing team are based near Antwerp in Belgium and are one of the top teams in the NWES. As part of a three-car team Alex will benefit from the data of the other cars and the engineering expertise of the team’s legendary engineer Bill Riley from Riley Technologies, the world famous American sports car builders.

The American Speedfest Weekend at Brands Hatch kicks off on the 8th June when Alex will hit the Tarmac for the first time as a Braxx driver.
