ALEX TO BE SPONSORED BY CARLUBE IN 2014 GINETTA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Alex will line up at the end of the month at Brands Hatch with the stars of the British Touring Car Championship with a new sponsor on his car.

Already supported by MIS Motorsport, the leading global provider of motorsport insurance, Alex will now also take to the track with the backing of Carlube.

Already the official oil supplier to the Ginetta race series, Carlube is part of the Tetrosyl Group - the largest car care product manufacturer in Europe. Tetrosyl shares a collective vision with Ginetta when it comes to keeping manufacturing firmly within the UK and, given their already strong links, was eager to play an active role in the development of young driver talent.

Alex had the opportunity at the Ginetta Media day to show off his driving skills and the new livery of his race car to the attending media. Alex said: "It was great to finish my last test before my first race, at Silverstone, and it’s great news that Carlube will be supporting me in my first season in the Ginetta Junior Championship. I am really looking forward to working with the Carlube team and getting them some great results in 2014."

Peter Schofield, Group Chairman of Carlube’s parent company, Tetrosyl, added: “Carlube has had a long history in motorsport, from single marque racing to Le Mans and F1. Supporting Alex is a very good fit for us. Over the last few years, the chemists in our laboratories in Bury have enjoyed working closely with the Ginetta race team to develop specific racing fluids for the highly-tuned race engines and gear-boxes of the Ginetta fleet.”

Commenting on the announcement, Steve Hunter, the team principal at JHR Developments, Alex’s race team said: “It’s exceptionally good for Alex, the team and the Ginetta Junior Scholarship to be carrying such a prestigious motoring name on the Ginetta Junior car. We are looking forward to showing it off at Brands Hatch in a few weeks.”

The first round of the Ginetta Junior Championship will take place at Brands Hatch on March 29/30, in support of the British Touring Car Championship. It will be shown live on ITV4.
