2018 ANNOUNCEMENT

Racing in NASCAR has been one of Alex’s goals since he first started racing. Now that dream will become a reality after being selected by NASCAR as part of their Driver Recruitment Program.

Last November, Alex was invited to test a Euro NASCAR in France. Alex got his first chance to drive a NASCAR under the watchful eye of 2000 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Bobby Labonte.

Alex drove a number of different NASCAR race cars, each set-up differently to test both his driving ability and to force him to change his driving style. After the assessment, Alex had to wait until the start of this year before he received the news that he had been hoping for, confirmation that NASCAR had selected him as part of the 2018 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Driver Recruitment program.

“When I read the letter from NASCAR in Daytona Beach I could not believe it. To have the chance to race in NASCAR with support from NASCAR themselves is a dream come true. My goal is one day to race in America and this opportunity gives me a chance to make it come true. This year I will race in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, where I will be racing in the Elite 1 class so I will be racing against the best European NASCAR drivers.  I’m definitely throwing myself in at the deep end! It has been a busy start to 2018 sorting out this opportunity and now, with everything in place. I cannot wait to travel shortly to Valencia in Spain for the first round -11th – 15th April,” commented Alex.

The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series consists of six rounds on different circuits around Europe, including a visit to the UK in June at Brands Hatch.

In less than two weeks’ time, Alex will travel to Valencia, where he will attend a test day with his team before the first race on the 14th April, when the nineteen year old will line up with 29 other NASCAR drivers from around the world.

Alex is no stranger to racing in Europe, having raced in the French F4 championship and the FIA International Endurance Series.

Team and sponsor announcements will follow in the coming week as we build up to the first round.
